Preview: Fresh Wordpress Header Design

Step one:

Start with a 1000px x 400px white canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set and name it Header Design, Halo Edition. Create a new layer. Choose your rectangle tool and draw a 1000 x 84 pixels, #009327 colored rectangle. Use the fixed size setting under rectangle options to make the exact rectangle. Add a gradient overlay layer style:

Step two:

In a new layer draw a 1000 x 7 pixels, black rectangle on the bottom end of your green header. Add a gradient overlay layer style:

Step three:

Anywhere on your header background draw a 1 1000 x 20 pixels, white rectangle. Set the layers blending mode to Soft light at 18%.

Step four:

Now decorate your background with some halo images, Download the image used in this tutorial. Once you insert the design into your canvas, set the layers blending mode to Hard Light.

Step five:

In a new layer draw a 31 x 31 pixels, black circle right on the middle of your header and background. Add the following layer styles then duplicate your black circle layer and position on the other end of your header.

Step six:

Create a new layer. Choose your rectangle tool and draw a 491 x 28 pixels, white rounded rectangle as shown on the picture below. Use the fixed size setting under rounded rectangle options to make the exact rounded rectangle. Set your layers blending mode to Darken and add the following layer styles:

Step seven:

Duplicate your white rounded rectangle from step six, position it as shown on the picture below where the original rounded rectangle is overlaping with the duplicate.

Step eight:

Again in a new layer draw another 31 x 31 pixels, black circle on the top of your overlaping rounded rectangle structures. Add the following layer styles:

Step nine:

Choose your text tool and select font Arial from the list. Set the size to 12 pt, bold, smooth and white for color. In a new text layer type your navigation links on your right end rounded rectangle. Add a stroke layer style:

Step ten:

Choose your text tool and select font Rockwell from the list. Set the size to 18 pt, extra bold, smooth and white for color. In a new text layer type your name. Add a stroke layer style:

Step eleven:

Choose your text tool and select font Eurostile from the list. Set the size to 11 pt, bold, smooth and white for color. In a new text layer type your slogan.
Add the following layer styles:
